Student:  Ava Suntok, grade 11

Placement:  Captain R. Wilson Public School

A placement in Elementary School Special Education is a very unique Co-op different from the traditional teaching placements and provides a more personalized experience. Working with Kindergarten and grade one-two students with special needs one-on-one and in small groups provides a great opportunity to build stronger relationships with students and to know that you are making a difference in their day. This is a great opportunity to learn about working with others and also allows you to assess your own personal development and career goals. The skills learned in any Co-op placement will be beneficial when working towards future goals and the opportunity is one that everyone should consider taking.
