Garth Webb School Council is happy to host the Introduction to Collaborative Problem Solving ® free workshop for parents/guardians on Tuesday, April 29 online at 6 pm.
Join us for this free virtual session with Think:Kids Certified Trainer Chris Alexiou where participants will learn to:
Recognize everyday examples of how lagging skills contribute to challenging behaviours
Better understand and feel empathy toward people who exhibit challenging behaviours
Develop an understanding of what causes concerning behaviour or unmet expectations
Discover the limitations of motivational approaches to unwanted behaviour
Envision how the Collaborative Problem Solving® approach can positively change interactions and outcomes

April is HLF Month at HDSB!
Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) Month is here! April 2025 is the second annual HLF Month and HDSB schools and community members are coming together to help raise awareness and funds for the financial support, provided by HLF, that many HDSB students need to fully engage in learning such as school supplies, food, and clothing.
Each year, HLF supports more than 3,000 students in the HDSB by providing financial support that removes educational barriers and providing the essential resources students need to focus on schoolwork and thrive to their full potential. HLF’s goal is to ensure that they can continue to say ‘yes’ to every request for support received. Many students in the Garth Webb community benefit from HLF's support.

Co-op in the HDSB
Garth Webb SS students David, Tyler and Matthew are gaining hands-on experience through Cooperative Education! Co-op is a fantastic opportunity for HDSB students to earn secondary school credits while completing a work experience placement in the community. It's available in all HDSB secondary schools and is valuable for all post-secondary destinations including: apprenticeship, college, community, university or work.
